BIOGRAPHY Luke Roberts was born in 1977 in Suffolk. He trained at Lamda and became a Post Graduate in 2000. He also has a BA in American Studies which he gained at the University of Wales. Luke - both a talented and versatile actor - first break came when he was chosen to play Herb in Steven Spielberg's epic mini-series Band of Brothers. He then went on to appear in soaps Family Affairs and Crossroads as well as Sky One drama Mile High. In 2005, Luke made a guest appearance in one episode of Holby City as Daniel, the son of Dominic Fryor who raped surgeon Diane Lloyd. It clearly took the attention of the Holby producers when six months later he joined the cast as registrar Joseph Byrne, a character of complete contrast to his guest role. A meticulous and obsessive surgeon, who has been weighed down by the attempted suicide of his younger brother who is now in a coma. Luke, who lives in North London, considers Gene Hackman, Al Pacino, Ray Winstone and Helen Mirren as some of his acting admirations. In his spare time he enjoys going to the movies, salsa-dancing, ski-ing, reading and going to the gym. He also admits he finds X Factor compulsive viewing. |
